Sherb Sentell is an Airborne Ranger who currently maintains the rank of Colonel in the United States Army Reserves. Outside of his service for the United States, Sherb Sentell is a civilian lawyer who was elected as the Minden and Ward 1 City Judge for Webster Parish, Louisiana in late 2014.
After being elected, Judge Sentell started a new program for at-risk juveniles who could benefit from life skills training. The new program is called CC-READY and Judge Sentell launched it in August of 2016. "CC-READY" stands for City Court Resiliency, Elevation, Ambition, and Direction for Youth. Sherb Sentell hired Ron Anderson to direct the program, who has a proven success record with similar programs (see for example http://www.prstars.org). CC-READY offers juveniles who have had trouble with the law the opportunity to participate in a program to develop the skills needed to positively and respectfully interact with others.
The program consists of four classes which are two hours each, and focus on teaching youth about discipline, self-respect, the importance of pursuing education, and developing a healthy respect for authority. Ron Anderson's programs have already shown positive results in other bigger cities such as Shreveport, where 85 percent of individuals who participate never find themselves back in a courtroom. Sherb Sentell gives all the credit for the success of the program to Ron Anderson. Sentell said, "We are blessed to have someone with Ron's abilities and compassion directing this program, and we can already see positive results." Currently, the CC-READY program is offered once a quarter and has space for 15 participants.
